Having remained part of the U.S. Navy
since her launching day in 1797, the USS CONSTITUTION is today the
oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world. She was one of 6 Frigates
that were built to defend the new American nation after George Washington
signed the Armament Act in 1794. Built at a final cost of $304,000 and made
from approximately 2000 trees, the USS CONSTITUTION became known as
"Old Ironsides" after someone saw a British shot bounce off of her sides. Our
model is meticulously detailed and fully rigged for display. Copper painted
bottom paint with simulated copper plating. Natural wood decks and formal
